Dear Friend,

It is indeed an honor for us to announce the XVIII International Symposium of the Treatment of Digestive Tumors (TTD) Group. For the first time it will take place this year in La Coruņa, on December 16th and 17th, 2010.

With the collaboration of outstanding professionals of interdisciplinary fields, our objective is to provide a scientific meeting point at which we will examine and share insight on breakthroughs that have been made in the care of patients with digestive system cancer.

The first day we will be dealing with new concepts in cellular and molecular digestive tumors, focusing especially on data that will allow us to advance in the area of personalized care. Following we will explore the complementary treatment of patients with colorectal cancer, looking for approaches to the surgery and eventual cure of these patients. Finally, the first day will conclude with an analysis of diagnostic evaluation and multidisciplinary treatment in different situations.

We will begin the second day by analyzing recent breakthroughs in esophagogastric and pancreatic tumors. Finally, at the round table of advanced colorectal cancer, we will be dealing with treatment as well as integration strategies.

Because we want to encourage group discussion and participation, we have included sessions that address controversial topics.

To achieve our objectives we are fortunate to have the contribution of leading experts both on a national and international level and along with them we look forward to your active participation. We consider every contribution valuable in making the symposium as enlightening as possible.

We hope that you find our program to your liking. It will be an honor and a privilege to count on your presence in the hospitable city and port of La Coruņa at our upcoming symposium.
